About Gawa Trust Gawa Trust is an NGO in India headquartered in Ooty, The Nilgiris. Our organisation strives to bring back children to school in Rural parts of The Nilgiris. It also aims at supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children in the government schools and government-aided schools. Since 2004, Gawa Trust has been concerting all its efforts towards providing quality education to children on every single school day. We are continuously leveraging technology to multiply our reach. Our partnership with the District Education Department, various panchayat Unions, along with the persistent support from individual donors, and well-wishers have helped us to grow to currently serve 1000 children in 5 schools. Alongside, Gawa Trust also aims at providing Food Relief to the disadvantaged and has extensively worked in providing Covid Relief by distributing Cooked Food and Dry Rations to the needy.​ Medical expenses to the underprivileged who are unable to get the required mediacl facilities due to poverty Our approach Our Mission We facilitate safe and conducive learning spaces. Learning takes place not just in the classroom but also in different spaces and areas in life. However, the majority of the things that one learns in life happen in those four walls. This is especially true when building learning foundations in children. Our Vision We support children and youth to reach their full potential Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and hope for the future. While some children shine in these areas, others don’t, because they are struggling to survive poverty, abuse, neglect, and families in crisis.
